With a face like old man winter himself, this red fox was making the best of a rare opportunity. With food sparse in the winter months, wildlife need to make their living wherever they can. This elk, possibly brought down by wolves, proved too great to resist. Photographed in the backcountry near the Lamar Valley.
While photographing for The Nature Conservancy today, I was lucky enough to spot one of these little creatures crawling out of a creek.
Driving 60mph I somehow managed to see this guy as he left the pavement for the tall grasses.
Photographed this evening in the Monteverde region of Costa Rica.
While working on one of my first major photography/motion picture projects in the Channel Islands in California, I took an afternoon swim in a kelp forest with my Canon 5D and underwater housing and spent 30-minutes dancing along the open ocean with this beautiful jellyfish. I managed to get a variety of fun images of these alien-looking creatures.
