With a face like old man winter himself, this red fox was making the best of a rare opportunity. With food sparse in the winter months, wildlife need to make their living wherever they can. This elk, possibly brought down by wolves, proved too great to resist. Photographed in the backcountry near the Lamar Valley.

this is good stuff man. the combo of the elk and the fox is really unique. the jaw bone of the elk is haunting and the stare of the fox just bumps up the intensity of it all. can’t wait to see more of this scene.
